NGZ-AGSAM LIMITED was founded in November 2011 by Ms Ngozi N Ugoji, a Universal Access Consultant with a background in Architecture who had practised in this field for over 15 years whilst she was based in the United Kingdom.

The company was founded to promote the ethos of universal design and provide Universal Access Consulting services.

Drawing from her extensive experience over the years working in similar roles in the UK, Ngozi identified a need to promote the introduction of the Universal Access Consultant role on project teams delivering facilities, building and other physical infrastructure projects across the region.

The expertise that this group brings to a project team is lacking on projects for the built environment, which limits the level and quality of equal access considerations in the design and implementation of projects. NGZ-AGSAM Limited was founded with the main aim of bridging this gap.

NGZ-AGSAM Limited was incorporated under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990 in Abuja on 10th November 2011, and is a Limited Liability company – RC 992581.

Our mission is to promote the provision of accessible systems and environments, by working with governments, businesses, buildings and facilities providers, to ensure the diverse needs of everyone in the society are captured.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to lead on the successful integration of the role of Universal (Inclusive) Access Consultants on all Project Teams delivering systems, facilities, building and infrastructure projects and to maintain our position as market leaders in this service area.

Ngozi is a qualified Project Manager with a background in Architecture. She graduated from Abia State University, Uturu - Okigwe obtaining a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1989. She had a successful career working with an architectural practice in Nigeria for many years and went on to study and obtained a post graduate Diploma in Decision Sciences at University of Hertfordshire Business School – UK in 2002. She worked with various UK Local Government Authorities and a Higher Education provider - Kings College London from 1997 to 2010 where she gained significant knowledge and work experience in the facilitation, design and implementation of Accessible Environments. She went on to practise as a Universal (Inclusive) Access Consultant and set up NGZ Limited in November 2011 – registered in the United Kingdom – company number: 07439736. She founded NGZ-AGSAM Limited the following year to provide similar services in Nigeria. Over the last 15 years, she has had hands-on experience proactively leading on delivery of Social Change projects and programmes - improving on older models and adopting a new Social model of Universal and Sustainable physical infrastructure design and project delivery. More recently, she has been involved in the following projects and programmes:

  • Proactively promoting universal and sustainable access provisioning in Nigeria as a standard requirement for the construction of buildings, facilities and other infrastructure projects
  • Safety Consultant to Lagos State Safety Commission since February 2014, for facilitating collaboration with Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA)
  • Universal access reviews of existing facilities. Some of the most recent organisations’ facilities reviewed are Central Bank of Nigeria’s learning center in Lagos; Total E & P Nigeria office complexes in Lagos and Abuja; new office complex for Systems Property Development Consortium in Abuja etc.
  • Universal Design assessor for the UK Civic Trust Awards for outstanding architecture and built environment competitions since 2011 (held annually)
  • Member – Steering Committee – in Partnership with the Lagos Civil Society Disability Policy Partnership (LCSDPP) on the implementation of the Lagos State Special People’s Law 2011
Ngozi is familiar with the application of relevant standards and interpretation of relevant technical guidance and well capable of applying them in a local context. She is passionate about promoting the introduction of the Universal Access Consultant role as a standard requirement on all systems, building and infrastructure development.

Ngozi also spends a lot of time working with organisations that extend their current boundaries of inclusion to embrace marginalized groups especially women and children

Our Approach

We work in tandem with our clients Program / Project teams, Architects, Engineers and Facilities Managers and other key functions such as the Human Resource function. Ideally we get involved at policy-making, review and initiative-development stages right through to implementation i.e. from scheme conception through the project lifecycle and beyond.

However, we are also capable of joining the team effort at any stage during program / project development or delivery.

Our approach

Regardless of what stage in the process, our presence and involvement on our clients projects ensures that their project teams are best placed to receive our timely input towards capturing and addressing all aspects of Equality and Diversity in a holistic manner. We achieve this by providing in-house teams with competent independent technical advice and project management services. We continue to provide our services throughout the duration of the implementation of any project or programme.
